3 SOCIAL MEDIA TACTICS THAT ARE ACTUALLY WORKING

01

 SHORT FORMAT VIDEO
Why this tactic works

  • It is attention-grabbing and will stop your audience from scrolling.

  • It is a form of storytelling that inspires and motivates people to want what you show them.

  • Music creates a whole mood.

  • Video movement creates a sense of anticipation.

  • You can choose to be in the content (establishes authority and expertise) or do a POV (point of view) for your audience to imagine themselves there.

  • It's free to create.

How you can use it in your travel business

  • Create short-format content. This can be photos, stock image downloads,  and video.

  • Choose whether you will have a music track and/or a voiceover and/or graphics.

  • List every video or photo you will need for every FAM trip or vacation. Sort and file them into folders in your cloud storage.

  • If you have skills, start editing. If not - OUTSOURCE!

More Examples

  • Parliament House Budapest VIEW (one sweeping video)

  • Budapest city-overview VIEW (montage of video and photo)

  • Parisi Restaurant single experience VIEW (montage of video and photo)

  • Scuba diving in Mexico VIEW (montage of someone else's content)

  • Dining Experience with everyone's food and drink VIEW (montage)

Getting Started

  • Take short videos everywhere you go - panning left to right and tilting top to bottom.

  • Don't worry about how you will edit the videos. Focus on creating a library.

  • When you return home, hire someone from Fiverr or similar. Type in "edit Instagram reels" to find people.

  • Remember that posting without promoting or advertising your business is like winking at someone in the dark - nobody knows you're doing it but you.

02

 BOTS
Why this tactic works
  • The video or image stops people from scrolling and grabs their attention. It inspires and excites them and makes them want what you are showing them.

  • The call to action (CTA) is extremely simple - type one word in the comment and in return, they receive a direct link to the product, service or valuable content that you just showed them.

  • You can set up bots to not only provide links, but to also have people opt into your email list and future updates.

  • ManyChat works on Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and WhatsApp.

How you can use it in your travel business
  • Set up bots using a program like ManyChat

  • Decide which pieces of content (that are in alignment with your commission goals) you are going to provide high-value content for.
Example: a list of the best Christmas Markets on the Danube River in Europe and the best way to see them. Comment CHRISTMAS to get the full list of each market.

More Examples

  • Gardenary - A gardening company VIEW

  • Refurbished  - Furniture restoration VIEW

  • Marketing - Content creation VIEW

  • Teaching children to read - VIEW

  • Cologne Christmas Markets - VIEW

 PINTEREST
Why this tactic works
  • You are creating professional content that establishes your authority and expertise.

  • Pinterest is not a social media platform. It is a search engine, just like Google, which means that you are driving hot traffic to your website. People are literally going to your website because of what you pinned.

  • Pinterest is not about comments or likes - those are vanity metrics. It's about conversion, which is all that matters.

How you can use it in your travel business

  • Choose the type of content you will send them to. It might be a podcast episode, a blog or article on your website, or a video.

  • Create a graphic — a graphic acts like a book cover for the content you are sending them to.

  • PIN the graphic and link it to the page on your website where the content is (not your homepage).

  • Have a spot at the bottom of your content where they can join your email list.

How you can use it in your travel business

  • Build a library of content on your website.

  • You can create multiple graphics (different images and copy) pointing to the same content.

  • Use an online scheduler to get 5-8 pins out daily a few times weekly.
