Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Hurdis and I am a Business Owner of an Accredited Online Travel Agency which is H. D. 3 6 5 Travel LLC. My Agency and I are CCRA & CLIA Members and have been extending Travel Agency Services since 2024; however, I have been Certified as an Online Travel Agent since 2022. I am very excited to be in this group because the discussion I have read so far are closely related to the questions I have. I will like to include a short video of my Luxury Travel Division and comments are welcomed.

Hello everyone, I have been a Travel Advisor for about 4 years (part-time). I have a few repeat clients that I book travel for; but I want to expand my market.

I have never charged a fee for planning my client's travel, so I joined this group because I wanted to see how everyone has implemented & receives fees.

My strategy for collecting Service Fees are when a Client's booked travel are large amounts, small amounts or on the duration of the Travel Planning Services my company provides on the Client's behalf. If a Client's travel is extrememly large I waive my Service Fees, if the Client's research goes beyond a certain amount of days, I charge a Service Fee or if the Client's booked travel is a very small amount I charge a Service Fee. I really just base collecting Service Fees on how the Travel Planning is being handled.

For those who are ICs, do you process your own fee payments, or do they go through your host agency?

If you process them yourself, what legal items need to be in place? SOT? LLC or SCorp?

I know if you don’t have a SOT for Florida, California and Washington you’ll need to process them though your host. Otherwise you’re usually ok to process yourself.

I’d recommend speaking with a TA lawyer If you have more questions about it as they will have more info.
